On Friday, January 26, 2024 Two Way Street Coffee House Friday Night Concert Series presents James H. Jewell.
Born in Danville Pennsylvania, he has been writing songs for more than 20 years and plays a mix of old-time country, folk and slightly experimental music not tied down to any one genre. Jewell has spent time living and performing in his hometown of Reading, Pennsylvania as well as Toronto, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Paris France where he recorded his record Songs from the Fridge, with one of the industry’s best engineers Steve Forward and with appearances by musicians from all over the US and France, including Paul Niehaus from Calexico, and Iron and Wine and Lambchop. The record is available on band camp.
Lambchop’s Kurt Wagner – “Songs from the Fridge is great. I listened to the whole record twice and it sounds awesome pre-mastered and all. James has such a great unique thing going on and it keeps getting better. There are bits of Polecat and Prine, but the main thing is how he uses his voice; it’s pure and wildly unpredictable. Great recordings.”
If you can’t join us in person, you can still tune in virtually to catch the show! Make your donation HERE to James. Visit www.twowaystreet.org for more information.
