On Friday, October 20, 2023 Two Way Street Coffee House Friday Night Concert Series presents Dan & Faith.

Dan and Faith are an award-winning, New England-based husband and wife singer-songwriter duo who describe their music as dream-inspired folk. Daniel Senie (guitar, harmonica, vocals) and Faith Senie (mandolin, bass, ukulele, dulcimer, vocals) tap into dreams and everyday life in crafting their original songs. They also perform select covers. The duo has released five albums – Then and Now (2020), Seeking (2016), Simple Grace (2014) are available. Two early albums are no longer available in print or online.

Raised in New York City and the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, Dan has been singing for as long as he can remember. Although he took piano and French horn as a child, neither instrument kept his interest. However, he enjoyed spending many summers at Camp Taconic, singing folk songs of the 1960s and 1970s, many of which remain favorites of his to this day. Upon moving back to NYC, Dan joined the Manhattan borough-wide chorus and, later, the New York All-City Chorus and Concert Choir.

Faith was raised in upstate Cooperstown, NY, where she began playing piano at an early age. She was an accompanist for school shows and concerts, sang in her school choir, and also took to acting. She and Dan met while both were students at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Although professional life led them to abandon their musical pursuits for more than 20 years, a songwriting workshop series with Pete and Maura Kennedy prompted them to return to their musical roots several years ago.

Says Pete Kennedy: “Dan and Faith warmly and honestly portray themselves, as individuals and as a couple, with an expansive panorama of acoustic styles that reflects their enlightened world view: a deep love for words and music, and a compassionate earth-based spirituality that illumines every couplet, guitar riff and mandolin melody.”

Nick Noble, host of “The Folk Revival” on WICN (Worcester Public Radio) opines:

“Combining thoughtful poetry and evocative storytelling with sweet harmonies, Dan & Faith are an acoustic duo worth hearing again and again. As singer-songwriters they remain true to their open-mic/coffeehouse/music-in-the-round roots, evoking laughter, love, melancholy, and magic in equal parts.”

If you can’t join us in person, you can still tune in virtually to catch the show!  Make your donation HERE to Dan & Faith. Visit www.twowaystreet.org for more information.
