Two Way Street Coffee House – Dana Maragos

Two Way Street Coffee House is Chicagoland’s most beloved folk and acoustic music venue, presenting weekly concerts and community events for over 50 years! The show starts at 8pm (CDT) and the doors open at 7:30pm. (Suggested donation $10). We will also host this concert virtually. On Friday, March 3, 2023 Two Way Street Coffee House Friday Night Concert Series presents Dana Maragos.
We are excited to welcome Dana Maragos to the venue. Earliest influences include her mother’s soaring soprano voice, and her grandmother buying that $25 guitar in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood when she was 6 years old. Harmonizing with her sister, Dara, and memorizing long lyrical passages of the songs of Bob Dylan, Odetta, Joan Baez, and Eric Andersen and singing in church choir, a commitment that is still part of her practice. She released a 3-song EP, Dana, in 2017 and the album, October in 2020.
In 2021, she released Tastes Like Fire, an EP featuring 3 songs that carve into the center of uncertainty with sharpness and honesty. A south Chicago-born singer-songwriter, lives on the city’s north side, is married to George, and is a mom to two sons, Alex and Sam. A big fan of the open mic scene, you’re likely to catch her out road-testing songs.
