Attending the Event
Players participating in the program must be 18 or older. If you (or your child) are under the age of 18, consider getting involved with our Youth Dungeons and Dragons program.
Please show up 5-15 minutes before your session’s scheduled start time.
Players must bring their own dice and writing utensils. We will have pregenerated character sheets available for anyone who wants to use one of those, but otherwise you must bring a paper or digital version of your character sheet. (Please note that the store does not have public wifi.)
Players are invited to bring along notebooks, rulebooks, miniatures, and other materials they wish to use with the game. While we will be able to supplement some of these materials, we won’t have enough for everyone.
We make room for everyone at the table. We expect that everyone will be excellent to one another.
Vulgar language and imagery, racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, and bigotry or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
Character Creation

We will have pregenerated characters available for new players! We highly recommend using one of those if it is your first-time playing D&D.

If you are constructing a character for the program, please make sure to follow the character creation rules outlined on pages 11-19 of the Player’s Handbook. Ability scores may be determined by (1) using the standard array of scores on page 13 (15, 14, 13, 12, 10 and 8) or by (2) using the “Customizing Ability Scores” variant on page 13 of the Player’s Handbook. Rolling dice to determine ability scores is prohibited and characters who are generated using this method will need to be rebuilt.

Characters will begin the game with all ordinary equipment for their class and background as described in chapters 3 and 4 of the Player’s Handbook. While involved with the program, these characters cannot gain any equipment or levels from playing in campaigns outside of the store.

You will “level up” your character to the appropriate level before you begin your first session. As you do this, you must use the average hit point increase for each level gained. Each session will tell you what level character you will need for the game.

In addition to the class and race options present in the Player’s Handbook, players are also welcome to explore the character options present in any officially published Dungeons and Dragons hardcover.

You may use Homebrew, Unearthed Arcana, or third-party content only with express permission from the game master.
