The McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage is hosting a Warhol Exhibit this summer, June 3-September 10, 2023. They have reached out to communities in DuPage County to partner with them. Learn more here. We are hosting a Poster Contest for all artists – 3rd grade and up!
Pick your favorite element of Downers Grove and create it in a Warhol inspired design.
Age divisions are: 3rd-5th grade, 6th-8th grade, high school and adult.
Entries are due April 15th.
A panel of judges will select 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each entry level. Prizes per entry level are:
- 1st place = $50 in Downtown Downers Grove Gift Cards
- 2nd place = $25 in Downtown Downers Grove Gift Cards
- 3rd place =$15 in Downtown Downers Grove Gift Cards
Winners will have their work displayed in downtown Downers Grove from June-August, 2023
Rules for entry:
- Your work should interpret the Pop-Art theme of Andy Warhol and something pertaining to Downers Grove
- Artwork must be no larger than 11”x14”, two dimensional and flat (not folded)
- All art must be your original work
- Do not use glitter
- Art may be submitted in three ways
1) hard copy to the Downtown Downers Grove Management Office at 933 Curtiss Street. Hard copy must be able to be scanned and reprinted as a poster, as a poster, 11”x14”
2) by JPEG electronic file to info@downtowndg.org with Poster Contest in the subject line. Jpeg should be a minimum of 300dpi and be able to be printed as a poster, 11”x14”
3) by high quality pdf with Poster Contest in the subject line - One entry per artist
- All entries must include the following: Name, School grade for the 2022/2023 school year (If applicable), email address, artist statement on why this element reminds you of Downers Grove
