SUMMARY:Pinecone Cottage Tea House - Cherries of Door County Afternoon Tea
DESCRIPTION:Inspiration for this Cherries of Door County Afternoon Tea came from a trip to Door County last summer\, visiting the many farm markets that make all types of sweet and savory items using locally grown cherries: jams\, salsas\, salad dressings\, cider\, syrup\, pie filling\, mustard and spreads. Lautenbach’s in Fish Creek and Wildwood Farm Market in Sister Bay were two of my favorite markets. Door County cherries are a hallmark of Wisconsin heritage\, especially the Montmorency tart variety. Underwater meadows\, teaming with vibrant life\, sway and ripple in the currents. Welcome to the wonders of seagrass. \nThese underwater flowering plants evolved from land plants millions of years ago. Often called “the lungs of the sea\,” seagrass meadows are found on every continent except Antarctica. Within this ecosystem is an abundance of marine life\, including many species of fish\, mammals\, reptiles\, and invertebrates. And beyond providing shelter and food for these inhabitants and visitors\, seagrass plays an important role in the health of our planet. Seagrass lessens the effects of climate change and even helps filter out plastics and pollutants awash in the ocean. But this important ecosystem is under threat from many human activities. It’s time to pay attention to this vital space on Earth. \nThrough lyrical text and ethereal artwork\, the wonders of the awe-inspiring world of seagrass comes to life for young readers. Back matter includes information about the diverse species making their homes in seagrass\, along with a glossary of terms. \nMore about A Pathway for Pollinators:   \nThis bright\, read-aloud companion to A Place for Rain inspires readers to build city gardens that connect and support pollinators. \nFlitter. Flutter. Buzz. Hum. Come watch a meadow thrum. \nBut what happens when a meadow meets a metropolis? There’s not much pollen to be found with steel buildings\, concrete roads\, and primly trimmed lawns. So this classroom plans and builds urban gardens to create an inviting pathway for pollinators to visit. \nWith lively\, lyrical language and beguiling illustrations\, A Pathway for Pollinators provides an upbeat and actionable approach to an important environmental issue\, empowering readers with the tools to create a habitat for wildlife\, grow healthy plants\, and support local ecosystems. \nAbout the Author:  \nMichelle Schaub is an award-winning children’s author and veteran teacher. She lives in Fort Collins\, Colorado.

SUMMARY:Fair Game - Star Wars Legion Casual Meetup
DESCRIPTION:Fair Game Downers Grove is hosting Star Wars Legion every Thursday from 5:30pm to 9:00pm. New and experienced players are invited to join us for this casual event.\n\n\nThere will be a $5 venue fee required to participate in the event. Participants with a valid Junior/High School ID will have that fee reduced to $2. There will be no charge for players ages 12 and under who are with a participating adult. \nPlayers should bring a 500 pt Skirmish Army\, and may optionally bring enough additional models to field an 800 pt Standard Army. These army lists should use the official army building rules on page 5 of the Rules Reference Guide\, available on the Atomic Mass Games website. You will be paired up at the event with others who brought similarly sized forces. \nIf you have any questions\, please reach out to downersgrove@fairgamestore.com. We also invite you to join our Discord Server and sign up for Legion email updates.
