SUMMARY:Anderson's Bookshop - Educator Book Club
DESCRIPTION:Educator Book Club\n\nJoin us for our Educator Book Club! Our next in-person meeting will be held on Tuesday\, January 20th at 4:30 pm\, and we will be discussing Outside by Jennifer L. Holm. This will be a free event\, but we highly encourage the purchase of the monthly book from our store.  Please note that the author will not be present at this event. \nIf you would like to purchase a book for this event\, click HERE. You may have the book shipped or come pick it up from either one of our two Anderson’s locations. \n  \nMore about Outside:   \nFrom three-time Newbery Honor winner Jennifer L. Holm\, a chilling but heartfelt story of a girl being raised in a compound who doesn’t understand how isolated and unusual her life is… until she must encounter the outside world. \nWhatever you do\, don’t leave home. \nRazzi has always been told: Don’t go Outside. It isn’t safe. There are people and creatures out there that will harm you. The walls of the Refuge will protect you from them. \nRazzi’s friend Ollie was curious about Outside… and it led to his death. So Razzi is trying to be on her best behavior. She is the oldest kid left\, the one the younger kids look up to. She has to follow the rules. \nBut Outside has a way of getting in\, and Razzi\, guided by a dog she has a strangely close connection with\, wonders what it’s like to run free beyond the walls. \nIf she steps away from everything she’s ever known… what will she find? \nAbout the Author:\nJennifer L. Holm is the New York Times bestselling and three-time Newbery Honor-winning author of multiple novels for young readers. With her brother Matthew\, Jennifer created the graphic novel series Babymouse and Squish. She lives in California.

SUMMARY:Pinecone Cottage Tea House - Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop Afternoon Tea
DESCRIPTION:Madam Puddifoot’s Tea Shop is a quaint\, very frilly tea shop located in the all-wizards town of Hogsmeade\, known as a popular spot for romantic dates among Hogwarts students. The fictional tea shop is described in the Harry Potter series as an atmosphere explicitly designed to bring people together in an intimate setting\, featuring lacy napkins\, china sugar bowls and a bell over the door that makes a “tuneful tinkle”. On Valentine’s Day\, it is especially gaudy\, with golden cherubs that throw pink confetti over the guests. I’ll never sniff a spice drawer the same way again.” —Catherine Gilbert Murdock\, Newbery Honor-winning author of The Book of Boy \nImpossible Creatures meets The Inquisitor’s Tale in this immersive middle grade fantasy adventure that follows a girl who must use her remarkable sense of smell to save the world from a terrifying plague. \nEvery scent tells a story. \nThe last thing Nia wants is to be branded a “Sinsory.” Where she comes from\, that’s just as deadly as the plagues that sweep through the land. But when the worst plague in a century hits their desert continent\, all of that suddenly changes. \nAn invitation arrives in the shape of a jar of blackcurrant jam. There she meets Scentiers\, like her\, but also Gazers\, Whisper-Gatherers\, and many more\, whose sensory powers go far beyond what regular folk can smell\, see\, or hear. \nIt’s there that Nia learns her nose knows far more than she ever dreamed . . . maybe enough to find the cure for the plague.
