SUMMARY:Two Way Street Coffee House - Presents February Sky
DESCRIPTION:Two Way Street Coffee House is Chicagoland’s most beloved folk and acoustic music venue\, presenting weekly concerts and community events for over 55 years!  The show starts at 8pm (CT) and the doors open at 7:30pm. (Suggested donation $10\, cash or Paypal).  We will also host this concert virtually.  You may access the livestream on www.twowaystreet.org\, on our Facebook page\, or on our YouTube channel. \nOn Friday\, February 27\, 2026 Two Way Street Coffee House Friday Night Concert Series presents February Sky. \nFebruary Sky is traditional singer and Celtic guitarist Phil Cooper with songwriter and singer Susan Urban.  Phil sings and plays his own arrangements of traditional songs and tunes on six string guitar and cittern\, and he also interprets a number of carefully chosen songs from the best of modern Folk song writers\, as well as backing Susan up on her songs.  Susan Urban is a writer of story songs and humorous “slice of life” songs.  She accompanies her songs\, plus Phil’s songs and tunes\, on six and 12-string guitar\, six string banjo\, mountain dulcimer\, hand percussion instruments and Native American Style flute.  Phil and Susan present a combination of old and new songs addressing the widest possible range of experience\, complete with vocal harmony\, intricate instrumentation and thoughtful stagecraft.  They believe that Folk Music is a continuum – whether the songs are self-penned or have a history thousands of years old\, as long as they speak to the human condition and the human heart\, they carry on the Folk Music tradition. \nIf you can’t join us in person\, you can still tune in virtually to catch the show!  Make your donation HERE to February Sky.  Visit www.twowaystreet.org for more information.

A brutal unflinching thriller for fans of organized crime sagas\, dark detective fiction\, and monsters born in the shadows of science. Chicago is choking under the hottest summer on record\, but the true heat comes from the blood spilled on its streets. \nDetective Donnie Lynch trails a killer who shouldn’t exist. Mob boss Tico “The Meatgrinder” Tortellio has stepped out from the shadows of his empire with a personal vendetta to avenge his daughter—and nothing short of blood will settle the score. Both men are hunting the same man— if “man” is still the right word… \nThe elusive killer\, Derek Hoffman\, is a steroid-abusing-sociopath twisted beyond recognition whose body and mind have been grotesquely transformed after his participation in a clinical trial for an experimental ED-arousal-drug called\, LIBIDONAL. Hoffman has become something monstrous\, a predator driven by lust\, rage\, and a thirst for blood. \nWith the city becoming a killing ground for a new apex predator\, Lynch and Tortellio race toward the same target. But who will reach Hoffman first? And when they do\, can bullets or brutality be enough to stop him? \nWretch is a brutal descent into crime\, horror\, and vengeance. A nightmare version of a city where justice wears many faces\, and none of them are merciful. \nAbout the Author:\nJeremy Wagner writes gritty and chilling novels\, non-fiction\, short fiction and scripts. He is the co-author of world-renowned\, Michelin-starred Chef Curtis Duffy’s bestselling memoir\, Fireproof\, which received critical acclaim and was a USA Today Bestseller and a #1 Amazon Bestseller in multiple categories. His upcoming horror crime novel\, Wretch\, releases on January 27\, 2026. Outside of writing\, Jeremy is the CEO of TV/film company\, Aphotic Media\, and the independent publishing company\, Dead Sky Publishing. He also writes music and lyrics for Broken Hope\, Earthburner\, and Lurch. He lives between Chicago and Miami Beach with his wife Kym and their two dogs.

SUMMARY:Tivoli Theatre - After Hours Film Society Presents 2026 Oscar Nominated Shorts
DESCRIPTION:MOVIE REVIEW\n2026 Oscar® Nominated Live Action ShortsAfter Hours is delighted to bring the Oscar-Nominated live-action shorts to our screen once again. This year’s nominees showcase filmmakers who can build a world\, break your heart\, or shift your perspective in under forty minutes. Discover the films everyone else will be talking about before the rest of the world catches up. And the nominees are: \nButcher’s Stain: A Palestinian Israeli butcher working in a Tel Aviv supermarket is accused of tearing down hostage posters\, and suddenly the job he depends on becomes a battleground. The film unfolds with a sharp\, lived in sense of tension\, revealing how quickly suspicion can harden into danger. A gripping portrait of a man trying to hold onto dignity in a world determined to strip it away. \nA Friend of Dorothy: A lonely widow and a teenage boy strike up an unexpected friendship after a stray football lands in her garden. What starts as a small interruption becomes a gentle\, intergenerational bond that softens the edges of both their lives. The film glows with the simple pleasure of being seen — sometimes by the person you least expect. \nJane Austen’s Period Drama: A Regency era romance goes delightfully sideways when a woman gets her period mid proposal\, exposing her suitor’s spectacular ignorance. With sharp wit and a modern pulse beneath its corsets\, the film skewers centuries of misinformation with a wink. It’s fizzy\, clever\, and joyfully irreverent. \nThe Singers: In a remote pub\, a group of rough edged men drift into an impromptu sing off that reveals more than any of them intend. What begins as bluster becomes something unexpectedly vulnerable\, as voices crack open the emotional lives they rarely share. A small\, resonant gem about the strange ways music lets us tell the truth. \nTwo People Exchanging Saliva: In a society where kissing is punishable by death and purchases are made through slaps to the face\, a discontented woman becomes fascinated by a playful salesgirl. Their connection sparks suspicion in a world built on surveillance and fear. The film is darkly funny\, sharply imagined\, and quietly rebellious — a love story smuggled into a dystopia.\n \n\n\nDISCUSSION FOLLOWS EVERY FILM!\n$7.00 Members | $11.00 Non-Members\nTIVOLI THEATRE\n5021 Highland Avenue  |  Downers Grove\, IL\n630-968-0219 |  classiccinemas.com\nWe apologize—Movie Pass cannot be used for AHFS programs

Hence\, my inspiration for this very British thematic and very adorable Afternoon Tea Menu! \n\nChef Pam \nAfternoon Tea Served by Reservation Only\nAge Requirement 13 yrs +\nThree Course Prix Fixe Afternoon Tea | 62\nGluten Free\, Dairy Free\, Vegetarian or Vegan Options | 67\nPrice Includes 20% Gratuity\nBYOB Wine or Beer | 10 per bottle \nRecommended Teas\nLoose Tea – Lavender-Rose Macaroon\nBeverage – London Fog | 5\nLady Gray Royale Loose Tea\, Heavy Cream\, Vanilla Extract\, Honey\nTeatail – Strawberry Rose Champagne | 7\nRose Black-Lavender Loose Tea\, Rose Water\, Strawberry Syrup\, Alcohol Free Rose \nBeginnings\nPotato-Leek Soup with Rosemary-Cheddar Drop Biscuits \nSavories and PineScones\nBacon-Asparagus-Brie Bundle\nCucumber-Feta-Mint Tea Sandwich\nCoronation Chicken Salad Tea Sandwich\nDeviled Egg Salad and Arugula Tea Sandwich\nStrawberry-Lemon-Poppyseed PineScone with Lemon Curd Devon Crème and Strawberry Preserves \nSweet Endings\nBakewell Cookie\nVictoria Sponge\nChocolate Cream Puff \nPinecone Cottage Weekend Afternoon Tea and Teatorial Policy\nPinecone Cottage is now taking Weekend Afternoon Tea and Event reservations on our website.
