Two Way Street Coffee House is Chicagoland’s most beloved folk and acoustic music venue, presenting weekly concerts and community events for over 50 years!  The show starts at 8pm (CT) and the doors open at 7:30pm. (Suggested donation $10).  We will also host this concert virtually.  You may access the livestream on www.twowaystreet.org, on our Facebook page, or on our YouTube channel.

On Friday, February 9, 2024 Two Way Street Coffee House Friday Night Concert Series presents Ed Ellis.

Ed Ellis is a multi-talented individual whose passion for trains and folk music has led him to make significant contributions in both fields. As the founder of Iowa Pacific Holdings in Chicago, he successfully revitalized defunct train lines in the Midwest, showcasing his dedication to preserving and promoting the rich history of railroads.

In addition to his achievements in the railroad industry, Ed is also a notable writer and columnist for Trains Magazine. His expertise lies in development projects related to acquisitions, financing, and marketing in the realm of railroad management, shortline railroad freight, and passenger operations.

Beyond his involvement in the railroad world, Ed Ellis has made substantial contributions to the music scene. He has played a key role in initiating music festivals and performance venues across the country. One notable example is the Wesley’s Place concert series in LaGrange, where he has provided touring artists with performance opportunities and fostered a sense of community among local audiences.

Now, Ed is taking the stage himself at Two Way Street Coffee House, blending his love for trains and folk music in a unique performance. Drawing from his 50-year railroad career, Ed shares a mix of songs and stories, featuring works by artists like Utah Phillips and Larry Penn, along with some of his original compositions. In true folk singer fashion, his performances incorporate personal experiences and stories gathered from various sources.

If you can’t join us in person, you can still tune in virtually to catch the show! Make your donation HERE to Ed Ellis.  Visit www.twowaystreet.org for more information.
