Join Anderson’s Bookshop for an author event with Olivia Walch, to celebrate the release of her newest book, Sleep Groove: Why Your Body’s Clock Is So Messed Up and What To Do About It, on Thursday, February 6th at 6:00 pm in our Downers Grove store. She will be in conversation with fellow sleep researcher Mike Rust.
Event Format
We will begin checking you in approximately 30 minutes before the start time. After a presentation and Q&A with the author, the line will form in numbered order with the following guidelines:
- Posed photo with your camera taken by our staff
- There is a limit of 2 books from home to be signed (unless otherwise stated)
- There is a limit of 1 personalization of the new book only (unless otherwise stated)
All events have open seating. The “Order Line Number” on your pdf ticket is your reserved place in the signing line. You will line up to meet the author based on that number.
If you cannot attend, you must pick up your book (if included with ticket) at the hosting store within 30 days of the event. We can ship that book to you for an additional charge of $9.99; please call the store to arrange that.

About the Author:
Dr. Olivia Walch is a researcher in the University of Michigan Department of Neurology and the CEO of Arcascope, a sleep and circadian rhythms technology business. Her research papers on sleep have been cited hundreds of times, been published in publications including The Atlantic, and she has been Principal Investigator on $2.2m worth of NIH grants, and her customers include the U.S. Navy. Through her company, she has a number of sleep-centric businesses in her network including ResMed, SleepScore Labs, and Philips.
About the Conversation Partner:
Michael Rust is a Professor at the University of Chicago in Molecular Genetics and Physics. Originally trained in physics, he became fascinated by rhythms in living organisms and runs a lab focused on studying fundamental mechanisms of biological clocks, including rebuilding clocks in a test tube. He won a Burroughs-Wellcome Career Award at the Scientific Interface and was a Pew Scholar.
